Potsdam is an historic city nestled in a beautiful landscape with many lakes. Most famous is Potsdam for its Sanssouci palace. Generations of the ruling Hohenzollern family had master architects build their residences here. These palaces and Italian style villas fit harmoniously into the wonderful landscape along the river Havel. Potsdam retains its unique appeal even today and the cultural ensemble was declared part of the world cultural heritage by UNESCO.
